Our First Taste of Paradise: A Magical Stay at Disney's Beach Club Resort
This past June, we embarked on a new Disney adventure, trading our usual haunts for a first-time stay at the stunning Disney's Beach Club Resort. For four glorious nights, we experienced the laid-back luxury and incredible amenities this Epcot-area gem has to offer, and let me tell you, we are officially smitten!
As Disney Vacation Club members, we utilized our points for this trip, opting for a spacious 1-bedroom villa – and we're so glad we did! From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were enveloped in that wonderful, quiet, and distinctly "beach club" feel. The resort's layout is absolutely beautiful, exuding an air of elegant relaxation that was a welcome change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the parks.

Unbeatable Park Access: Epcot & Hollywood Studios!
One of the absolute highlights of staying at the Beach Club is its incredible proximity to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Seriously, you can't beat it! We loved that we could simply stroll out the back of the resort and be at Epcot's International Gateway entrance in a mere 5-7 minutes. This private entrance, located directly in the World Showcase section between the UK and France pavilions, made park hopping and evening visits to Epcot incredibly convenient and enjoyable.
But the convenience doesn't stop there! From the same general area, you also have fantastic options for getting to Disney's Hollywood Studios. You can enjoy a leisurely boat ride across Crescent Lake, which typically takes around 15 minutes(though times can vary depending on stops). It's a super convenient and relaxing way to arrive at the park! Alternatively, for those who prefer to stretch their legs, there's also a pleasant walking path that connects the resorts to Hollywood Studios, usually around a 15-20 minute stroll. No long bus rides or crowded monorails – just a peaceful lakeside journey to the magic!
Storm Along Bay: A Water Wonderland Like No Other
Without a doubt, the crown jewel of the Beach Club (especially for families!) is Stormalong Bay. This isn't just a pool; it's an entire aquatic playground! Our family absolutely adored it. Imagine a sprawling water park right at your resort, complete with a lazy river, thrilling slides, and best of all, actual sandy areas integrated into the pool. It truly felt like we were splashing around on a pristine beach, creating endless hours of fun and memories. The unique sand-bottomed sections really do make it feel like you're wading into the ocean – a fantastic touch!
Dining Delights & Budget-Friendly Bites
One of the things we always appreciate at Disney resorts is the variety of food options, and the Beach Club certainly delivered. We found plenty of delicious choices to satisfy everyone's cravings, from quick bites to more substantial meals.
A particular shout-out goes to the Beach Club Marketplace. This spot became our go-to for convenient, quick-service options. We discovered a money-saving hack here that we just have to share: we picked up a Tombstone frozen whole pizza for just $7 and baked it right in the oven of our DVC 1-bedroom villa for dinner one night! Talk about saving a ton of money while still enjoying a delicious and easy meal after a long day in the parks. It was a fantastic way to stretch our vacation budget without sacrificing comfort or convenience.
The Verdict: We'll Be Back!

Our first stay at Disney's Beach Club Resort was everything we hoped for and more. From the tranquil ambiance and beautiful layout to the unparalleled fun of Stormalong Bay, the incredibly convenient park access (to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios!), and the surprisingly affordable dining options, it truly felt like a home away from home.
